AS Roma has joined the race to sign Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City.
The former Manchester City forward is expected to be one of the stars to leave the King Power Stadium after the relegation of the 2016 Premier League champions on the last day of the season.
Youri Tielemans has already joined Aston Villa after the expiration of his contract with the Foxes while midfielder James Maddison, forward Harvey Barnes and striker Patson Saka are expected to leave the club either on a permanent basis or on loan.
According to reports in England, Premier League sides Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Burnley while Turkish sides Galatasaray and Besiktas have also been reported to be interested in the Nigeria international.
Roma joining the chase for the Nigerian comes as a shock. Still, according to respected Italian website, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto was in London on Monday to meet with the management of the English side on the possibility of not just taking Iheanacho back to the Stadio Olympico, but adding Saka to the list.
Iheanacho last season scored eight goals in 35 games across all competitions for the Foxes and provided five assists. Leicester will be willing to listen to offers for the Nigerian who has just one year left on his current contract.
