Remo Stars appoint Usman Abd’Allah as technical adviser amid survival battle

‎Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars have confirmed the appointment of Usman Abd’Allah as their new Technical Adviser, with the decision taking immediate effect.

‎The announcement was made through an official club statement on Thursday, as the Sky Blue Stars look to steady their season following a difficult campaign that has left them battling near the relegation zone.

‎“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Usman Abd’Allah as the Technical Adviser of the club,” the statement read.

‎The Ikenne-based side described the move as part of a broader ambition to reposition the team competitively.

‎“This appointment is with immediate effect as it is expected to mark a significant step in the club’s vision to elevate its performance.”

Abd’Allah arrives with an impressive résumé. The experienced tactician holds a UEFA Pro Licence and advanced qualifications in football coaching and team management from Le CREPS de Montpellier in France.

He also earned the National Coaching Accreditation Programme (NCAP) Level 1 certification from Singapore, alongside a LaLiga Coaching Certificate.

‎His managerial journey has taken him across Asia and Europe, while domestically he previously served as Technical Adviser of Enyimba FC and worked within the Kano Pillars setup. Notably, he was part of the Super Eagles’ technical crew under former head coach José Peseiro.

‎During his stint with Enyimba, Abd’Allah guided the Aba giants to the NPFL title in the 2018/19 season and led them to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, where they narrowly lost to Raja Casablanca.

“Usman Abd’Allah combines international exposure with deep knowledge of Nigerian football, making him well-positioned to lead the Sky Blue Stars,” the club added.

‎Remo Stars currently sit 19th on the NPFL table with 27 points from 27 matches and face immediate pressure to climb out of the drop zone. Abd’Allah is expected to take charge this weekend as they host Katsina United, beginning what the club hopes will be a turnaround under his leadership.

‎“Remo Stars looks forward to an exciting moments under Abd’Allah’s leadership,” the statement concluded.
