Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Ranchers Bees have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season with the signing of experienced defender Kabiru Mohammed from Kwara United on a two-year contract, Bold Sports reports.
The Kaduna-based club announced the acquisition of the versatile defender on Monday as they continue preparations for life in the top flight after spending several years in the lower divisions of Nigerian football.
“Ranchers Bees Kaduna is pleased to confirm the signing of Kabiru Mohammed from Kwara United FC. The left-back has agreed personal terms with the club and has signed a two-year deal,” the club said in a statement.
Kabiru brings a wealth of experience to the squad, having featured extensively in both the Nigerian league and European football. In addition to his time at Kwara United, the 28-year-old has also played for Abia Warriors.

The defender began his career at Abuja College before securing a move to Europe in 2016, joining Croatian side HNK Rijeka, where he initially featured for the club’s B team. He later gained further experience through loan spells with Slovenian outfit NK Krka and Croatian side NK Varaždin.
Kabiru played a pivotal role in Kwara United’s historic 2025 President Federation Cup triumph, helping the club secure qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup. Although the Harmony Boys exited the competition in the preliminary rounds, his performances throughout the campaign underlined his importance to the team.
The Kaduna-based side will be hoping Kabiru’s experience and leadership qualities can bolster their defence as they seek to establish themselves in the NPFL following their return to the top flight.
