Nigeria striker, Paul Onuachu, has insisted that he wants to remain at Trabzonspor despite the expiration of his loan deal at the Turkish club.
Onuachu joined Trabzonspor on loan from Southampton after he failed to replicate the form that saw him earn an £18m move from Genk.
According to Trabzonspor President, Ertugrul Dogan, the club is in talks with Southampton over another loan deal for the Nigerian striker.
“Paul Onuachu has revealed that he wanted to stay on our team in the meeting he had with us and our coach,”Doğan was quoted as saying by 61Saat.
“The player has also conveyed this request to his own club (Southampton). Negotiations with his club continue.
“We also have alternatives regarding the center forward.
“It is not that we will only buy one center forward, maybe we will buy two.”
The former Genk striker made 25 appearances last season for Trabzonspor, scoring an impressive 17 goals. He’s contracted to Southampton until June 2026.
