Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu will go head-to-head today in a highly anticipated Turkish Super Lig encounter as defending champions and league leaders Galatasaray host title chasers Trabzonspor at RAMS Park.

Galatasaray remain unbeaten in the league this season, boasting nine wins and a draw from ten matches, while Trabzonspor trail closely behind with seven wins, two draws, and one defeat – five points adrift of the top.

Both sides are spearheaded by in-form Nigerian strikers capable of firing their teams to glory this season.

Osimhen, who inspired Galatasaray to the league title last season, is regaining his rhythm after a month-long injury layoff. On the other hand, Onuachu, back at Trabzonspor following a difficult spell at English side Southampton, has been in blistering form, currently leading the league’s scoring charts.

Trabzonspor will be aiming to become the first team this season to hand Galatasaray a defeat, as they chase a fifth consecutive league victory. Meanwhile, the champions will look to extend their unbeaten run with a tenth win in eleven outings.

However, history is not in Trabzonspor’s favor – they have lost their last three meetings against Galatasaray and have not won at RAMS Park since their 2–1 triumph in 2022.

Ahead of the clash, Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke emphasized the importance of discipline and focus.

“Our only goal is to get the three points. We will play with high discipline and passion for the full 90 minutes. There’s no pressure on us. We’re a good team, and I believe in you. I know you’ll bring character to the pitch,” Tekke said.
