In-form Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be aiming to score his 155th club career goal when Turkish champions Galatasaray travel to face İstanbul Başakşehir this weekend.
Osimhen returns to club duty brimming with confidence after inspiring Nigeria to the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs. The 26-year-old netted a hat-trick in the Super Eagles’ emphatic 4–0 win over Benin Republic, before providing an assist for Akor Adams in the 2–1 victory over Lesotho last week.
Just recently back from a month-long injury layoff, Osimhen made an immediate impact by scoring the decisive goal in Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League win over Premier League champions Liverpool. That strike took his club career tally to 154 goals since beginning his professional journey with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in 2017.

Although he failed to find the net in 16 appearances for Wolfsburg, Osimhen has flourished everywhere else. He scored 20 goals in 36 games for Sporting Charleroi, 18 in 38 for Lille, 76 in 133 for Napoli, and has already notched 40 goals in 48 matches for Galatasaray.
Despite a slow start to the season due to injury and transfer delays, Osimhen is determined to build on last year’s remarkable campaign, where he scored 37 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.
With three goals in six matches so far this season, the Nigeria international will be looking to help Galatasaray push deep into Europe and secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
