Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen opened his goal account for the season as Galatasaray secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Kayserispor in their Super Lig clash on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.

Having signed permanently from Napoli, Osimhen had only featured once this season — coming off the bench against Karagümrük — but he returned to the starting XI against Kayserispor, eager to find the back of the net.

Despite Galatasaray dominating possession early on, the hosts stayed solid defensively until the 36th minute, when Evren Eren Elmali broke the deadlock to give the champions the lead heading into halftime.

The visitors then doubled their advantage few seconds into the second half, with the Turkish forward heading home his second of the game from a brilliant Leroy Sané cross.

With Galatasaray comfortably in front, Osimhen kept pushing for his first goal of the season and was finally rewarded in the 86th minute, calmly slotting home to make it 3-0, before Sané added a fourth deep into stoppage time to seal the emphatic win.

The victory maintains Galatasaray’s perfect start to the new campaign, with three wins out of three, 10 goals scored, and none conceded, keeping them top of the Super Lig table as they aim for a fourth consecutive league title.

Up next, Galatasaray host Rizespor on Saturday, August 30, while Kayserispor travel to face Kocaelispor on the same day.
