Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been declared fit to face South Africa on Wednesday in the semi-final of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.
Osimhen joined the team on Tuesday and took part in the final training session ahead of the match. The Napoli striker did not travel with the team to Bouake on Monday due to stomach discomfort and was accessed overnight by the medical crew who later cleared him to join his teammates.

A statement from the team reads, “Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday. He has joined the Bouaké team and trained with the squad today.”
The news comes as a huge boost to the national team and their supporters who would be banking on the former Lille striker to wreak havoc on the Bafana Bafana defense as he has done in the competition so far.
However, it is not so pleasant news to the South Africans who had been hoping he would be unavailable for the encounter.
