Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his incredible run of form in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring a brace to help Trabzonspor secure a 3-0 victory over Samsunspor in their league clash on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.
Onuachu who had scored in three straight games before the match, wasted no time in making his impact felt once again, netting in the 23rd minute with a powerful header to give the visitors the lead.
Few minutes into the second half, the striker thought he had made it 2-0, but his goal was ruled out after a VAR review. However, Onuachu couldn’t be stopped. In the 81st minute, the striker scored with a brilliant right-footed shot, extending Trabzonspor’s lead and all but securing victory for the team.
In added time, the visitors added another goal after a penalty was awarded for a foul on Mustafa Eskihellaç. The spotkick was clinically converted by Ernest Muci, making it 3-0 and claiming all three points for Trabzonspor.

The victory means Trabzonspor are now on 45 points, four points behind leaders Galatasaray who have a game in hand. Meanwhile, Samsunspor remain seventh in the standings with 30 points in 21 games.
Onuachu’s first goal of the night took him to 200 club career goals. He has now scored 16 goals in all competitions this season and is the leading goalscorer in the Super Lig with 15 goals, ahead of Eldor Shomurodov who is second with 14.
The Nigerian striker will hope to continue his scoring streak when Trabzonspor face off against Fenerbahçe in a huge game on Saturday, February 14. Victory in that encounter could take Trabzonspor up to second place, putting them firmly in the title race.
