Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is on the verge of surpassing his previous goal tally for Trabzonspor when they face fellow title contenders Fenerbahçe on Saturday.
Onuachu took his league total to 15 goals in 18 Turkish Süper Lig matches after scoring a brace in last weekend’s 3–0 victory over Samsunspor. The haul matches the 15 goals he recorded in 21 appearances during his loan spell with the club in the 2023/24 season.
This time, however, the Nigerian forward has reached the milestone in fewer games and is firmly in contention for the Süper Lig Golden Boot, sitting joint-top of the scoring charts alongside İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov.

He now has the chance to set a new personal best when Trabzonspor host Fenerbahçe at Papara Park in a crucial title clash.
Trabzonspor currently sit third on the table, seven points behind leaders Galatasaray and four adrift of second-placed Fenerbahçe. A win on Saturday would cut the gap to Fenerbahçe to just one point and significantly boost their title ambitions.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, will be in action earlier on Friday night when they host Eyüpspor at RAMS Park. The early kickoff is designed to give them additional rest ahead of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff against Juventus.
