El Kanemi Warriors will be hoping to put an end to Bendel Insurance’s winning streak when they take on the Benin Arsenal in a matchday 5 fixture of the 2023 abridged Nigeria Professional Football League season in Borno on Wednesday.

Despite El Kanemi’s optimism, Group A leaders Insurance will be eager to continue their winning streak as they hope to extend their lead on the NPFL table. The Benin Arsenal arrived Maiduguri on Monday in preparation for the game having flown from Benin to Abuja before catching a connecting flight to Bornu.

Having won all four games played this season including two away from home against Akwa United and Kwara United, the two-time league champions will go into the game billed for Wednesday, February 1 with high confidence on the backdrop of their 3-0 thrashing of Remo Stars in Benin last Saturday.

The hosts are winless in their last two games losing 1-0 to Shooting Stars in their last outing and playing a goalless draw at home against Gombe United.

Insurance will be banking on the form of forwards Imade Osarenkhoe who has scored in every game for the Benin-based side this season (4 goals) and Ismael Seriki who has also found the back of the next three times this season in four games.
