Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie delivered another assured performance between the sticks, keeping a clean sheet as Brighton edged Leicester City 1-0 in their Women’s Super League clash on Sunday.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper recorded her second consecutive clean sheet after last weekend’s goalless draw with Liverpool, as Brighton secured their first away victory in the league since their narrow 1-0 triumph over Everton in January.

Brighton dominated proceedings in the opening half, enjoying the lion’s share of possession and carving out the better chances, but were unable to convert their superiority into a goal before the break.

However, the breakthrough arrived just three minutes into the second half when Kiko Seike found the back of the net to hand the visitors a deserved lead.

The Seagulls continued to press for a second goal and created several promising openings, but a lack of clinical finishing prevented them from extending their advantage.

At the other end, Nnadozie was largely untroubled, with Leicester failing to register a single shot on target, allowing Brighton to comfortably see out the win.

The victory lifts Brighton to sixth place on the WSL table with 21 points, while Leicester remain bottom with nine points from 18 matches.

Nnadozie’s latest clean sheet takes her tally to six for the season, putting her firmly in the race for the Golden Glove. Only Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton has recorded more clean sheets so far, with seven.
