Nnadozie nominated for PFA WSL fans’ player of the month award

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the PFA Women’s Super League Fans’ Player of the Month for September, following a string of impressive performances for Brighton, Bold Sports reports.

Since arriving at the club, the Nigerian international has made five appearances, keeping two clean sheets and standing out as one of the league’s most consistent goalkeepers. Her performances in September were particularly influential, helping Brighton collect seven points from their opening five Barclays WSL matches.

Nnadozie also made an instant impact on her Women’s Super League debut, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, where she was also named Player of the Match.

The nomination caps a remarkable year for the 24-year-old, who played a key role in Nigeria’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph, earning the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament award. She also made history by being nominated for the inaugural Women’s Yashin Trophy, becoming the first female African goalkeeper ever recognised at the Ballon d’Or awards.

Nnadozie is shortlisted alongside Aggie Beever-Jones (Chelsea), Melvine Malard (Manchester United), Alessia Russo (Arsenal), Bunny Shaw (Manchester City), and Cathinka Tandberg (Tottenham Hotspur).

Fans can vote for Nnadozie to win the PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month award via the official voting platform.
