Nigerian teenage sensation Jared Ejiasian has etched his name into the record books after breaking the U18 world record in the 60m hurdles, clocking a stunning 7.43 seconds in the final at the French Indoor Championships in Val-de-Reuil, Bold Sports reports.
The performance saw the AC Nord Val d’Oise athlete erase the previous mark of 7.48 seconds set in 2019 by Sasha Zhoya in Liévin, delivering one of the standout moments of the championship.

Although Ejiasian has lived in France since the age of one, the talented hurdler made the decision to represent Nigeria internationally – a choice that is already paying dividends as he continues his rapid rise on the global stage.
While Ejiasian grabbed global attention with his record-breaking run, the French national title went to Orfeo Chandler of Paris Université Club, who claimed gold in 7.67 seconds.
Ejiasian’s historic performance not only signals the arrival of a new sprint hurdles prodigy but also provides a major boost for Nigeria’s athletics future as the country continues to uncover world-class talent abroad.
