The Phoenix Suns have traded D’Tigers forward Chimezie Metu to the Memphis Grizzlies alongside Yuta Watanabe in a three-team deal that sees Keita Bates-Dip and Jordan move to the Brooklyn Nets while Royce O’Neale joins the Suns.
This is according to NBA insider Shams Chanaria who has been monitoring the situation. This will be the fourth franchise Metu will be representing since joining the NBA in 2018 as a second-round 48th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs. He’s also represented the Sacramento Kings.
Despite inconsistent playing time for the Suns this season, averaging 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.1 minutes across 37 appearances (including five starts), 26-year-old big man Chimezie Metu is expected to see a significant increase in playing time with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The injury-plagued Grizzlies need frontcourt depth, and Metu’s versatility and potential should boost their lineup.
