Super Eagles and Nantes winger, Moses Simon, found the back of the net, but a late equalizer by Saint-Etienne’s Augustine Boakye forced a 1-1 draw at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Sunday.

Moses Simon’s 14th-minute goal gave Nantes the lead, and despite being unable to double their advantage, they defended solidly until Saint-Etienne’s late equalizer in the 88th minute.

The goal marked Moses Simon’s fifth in Ligue 1 and his tenth goal contribution this season, making him Nantes’ top scorer and leading assister, highlighting his importance to the team’s hopes of securing safety in the Ligue 1.

The draw extends Nantes’ winless streak to four games, with their last Ligue 1 victory dating back to a 1-0 win against Rennes on December 8, also courtesy of Moses Simon’s goal.

The result leaves Nantes 15th on the table, level on points with Saint-Etienne with 17 points each. They will aim to end their winless run when they face Lyon on Sunday, January 26.
