British-Nigerian heavyweight boxing sensation Moses Itauma has been unveiled as the newest brand ambassador of leading Nigerian gaming company Bet9ja in Lagos, a partnership that celebrates both his Nigerian heritage and his rising international boxing career.
Itauma, who recently extended his undefeated streak with a knockout victory over British veteran Dillian Whyte, said the partnership provides him an opportunity to reconnect with his Nigerian roots and contribute to the development of young athletes in the country.
“One of the reasons why I chose to collaborate with Bet9ja was because growing up in Slovakia and in Kent (England), I never fully had that relationship with Nigeria,” Itauma said at the unveiling. “So when this came along, I said this was a good time to discover my roots and my heritage. We’re here, discovering that heritage.”

The 20-year-old star boxer, who last visited Nigeria in 2010, expressed joy at returning home and emphasized his plans to make a meaningful impact off the ring.
“It is nice for me to come back. I haven’t been back here since 2010. Another reason is to set up charities and help unlock the potential in young Nigerian athletes,” Moses Itauma added.
Beyond personal reconnection, Itauma said he is excited about what the partnership with Bet9ja will deliver in terms of athlete development and fan engagement.

“This partnership will help me be more hands-on with the development of young Nigerian athletes coming through. I’m really happy about this partnership because it goes beyond me — it’s about the future of Nigerian sport.”
According to Bet9ja, the collaboration is designed to position Itauma as a symbol of resilience, toughness, and sporting excellence, while also deepening fan engagement. The company plans to release exclusive digital content, behind-the-scenes access, and fan initiatives that connect audiences to Itauma’s inspiring journey.
The initiative also reflects Bet9ja’s wider mission of empowering champions across different sports, from football to combat sports, while investing in the next generation of Nigerian athletes.
Omene Osuya, Senior Marketing Manager of Bet9ja, described Itauma as the future of global boxing and a role model for aspiring Nigerian athletes.
“Moses represents the future of boxing. His dominance in the ring, matched with his charisma outside of it, makes him a generational athlete. His presence here is not just about Independence celebrations; it signals the dawn of a new era for Nigerian boxing,” Osuya said.

For Itauma, the new ambassadorial role is more than a commercial collaboration — it is a homecoming.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited to work with Bet9ja. I believe together, we can inspire, support, and create real opportunities for young talents in Nigeria. This partnership means a lot to me personally and professionally.”
