Lookman hopes to end two-month goals drought

Lookman hopes to end two-month goals drought

After his impressive start to life in the Italian Serie A scoring 12 goals in 20 league games for Atalanta, Ademola Lookman has gone cold having failed to find the back of the net in his last seven league games.

The Nigeria international will however, be looking to end his seven-game goals drought when La Dea visits relegation-threatened Cremonese at the Giovanni Zini Stadium tomorrow.

Lookman who had been in the chase for the Serie A golden boots alongside compatriot Victor Osimhen and Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez has been left behind having suffered a drop in form.

The 25-year-old last scored a goal for Atalanta in their 2-0 win over Sampdoria on January 28. This means he’s gone two months without a goal, a situation he will be hoping to change against the bottom side.

His dip in form has seen him start the team’s last two league games from the bench.

With 12 league goals so far this season, Lookman might have outperformed the expectations laid on him however, he will be hoping to finish strong by getting his name back on the scoring sheet and a smile on his face.
