Victor Boniface in training

The 23-year-old is yet to appear for the Germans after having adductor surgery in January, an injury he sustained while on international duty with Nigeria. The injury saw him miss out on the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

He has recently returned to training and will be hoping to lead Leverkusen who are currently 10 points ahead of rivals Bayern Munich to their first-ever Bundesliga title.

According to Sky Germany, an unnamed Premier League team has made a concrete verbal inquiry about the Nigerian. Aside from the Premier League club, several top clubs in Europe are on the lookout for the Nigerian who may decide to leave the club should manager Xabi Alonso be prayed away by either Liverpool or Bayern Munich in the summer.

Sky in Germany reports that “Leverkusen wants to keep the Nigerian but would be willing to talk to clubs if offers of more than €55m are made this summer.
