Legendary Italian manager Arrigo Sacchi has expressed confidence that Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman could prove to be a key signing for Inter Milan, provided he quickly adapts to his new surroundings, Bold Sports reports.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Sacchi said the Nigerian international can “make a difference for Inter providing he settles in quickly and integrates perfectly with the group.”
In the interview — quotes of which were shared via TMW — Sacchi praised Lookman’s physical attributes, calling him “a phenomenal sprinter.” He added, “that is the quality that Inter need to make the most of.”
Sacchi was also asked whether Inter have strengthened their attack by potentially replacing Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi with new signing Ange-Yoan Bonny and Lookman. “It is definitely a step forward, no doubt,” he replied.

On the possibility of Inter deploying a front three consisting of Lookman, Marcus Thuram, and Lautaro Martinez, Sacchi said: “Anything is possible, as long as everyone sacrifices themselves for the good of the team. In my Milan, Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard, Donadoni and the rest all played together.”
He emphasised the importance of team cohesion under Inter manager Cristian Chivu, noting: “The key is that Chivu outlines a clear strategy and that his players stick to it without getting discouraged at the first setback. But to field a trio like that, the forwards will have to work very hard when pressing, otherwise the team will suffer.”
Lookman is currently the subject of ongoing transfer talks between Inter and Atalanta. La Dea are holding out for a €50 million fee, and negotiations with both the club and the player’s representatives are ongoing.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign last season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for Atalanta.
