Kelechi Iheanacho has made a strong start to life at Bursaspor. The Nigerian forward has scored twice in his opening two league appearances for the Turkish club, Bold Sports reports.
Iheanacho has also provided one assist during that run. He helped Bursaspor beat Bodrum FK 2-0 before scoring the winner against Igdir FK. His early numbers have made him Bursaspor’s leading scorer after two league games.
A productive debut against Bodrum
Iheanacho began his Bursaspor career with an impressive display. He started the 2-0 away victory over Bodrum FK on August 9.
The former Leicester City forward opened the scoring in the 27th minute. He timed his run well before finishing past the goalkeeper.

He then turned creator before half-time. Iheanacho assisted Lincoln Henrique for Bursaspor’s second goal.
He also recorded three shots, with all three efforts on target.
He created two chances during the match. He also completed 86 percent of his passes.
Iheanacho delivers again at home
His second appearance brought another decisive contribution.
Bursaspor faced Igdir FK on Saturday. Iheanacho scored the only goal in a 1-0 home victory.
The forward found the net in the 16th minute. Juergen Elitim supplied the delivery into the box.
Iheanacho attacked the ball and headed it home. The finish secured another three points for Bursaspor.
It also extended his scoring run to two consecutive matches.
What the numbers show
After two league matches, Iheanacho has two goals and one assist. He has therefore contributed directly to three of Bursaspor’s three league goals.
He currently leads the club’s scoring chart. He also ranks among Bursaspor’s leading performers by rating.
That start offers an early indication of his importance. Bursaspor returned to the Turkish second tier this season.
The club will want to build on that promotion. Iheanacho’s goals could become central to those ambitions.
For now, the early signs are encouraging. He has scored in both league appearances and already produced a goal-and-assist performance.
The next challenge will be maintaining that level across the campaign. If Iheanacho continues producing consistently, his Bursaspor move could become an important chapter in his career.
