Josh Maja ended a frustrating goal drought, netting a sublime goal for West Bromwich Albion in their 1-1 draw against Luton Town on Friday evening.
The Nigerian striker, who had started the season on fire with seven goals in seven games, had been scoreless in his previous five matches. His delicate flick in the 45th minute gave West Brom a deserved lead. However, Tahith Chong equalized for Luton in the 60th minute.

Interestingly, West Brom’s form has mirrored Maja’s. They’ve failed to win in the five games where he didn’t score, drawing four and losing one.
The draw extends West Brom’s winless streak to seven games. Despite their fifth-place position, they risk being overtaken by Blackburn Rovers or Watford.
Maja was substituted in the 75th minute, while Victor Moses, who started for Luton, was replaced at halftime.
With this goal, Maja has now scored eight goals in 13 league games, maintaining his position as the second-highest scorer in the league, behind Norwich’s Borja Sainz.
