Alex Iwobi shortlisted for EPL Player of The Month award

Alex Iwobi shortlisted for EPL Player of The Month award

Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has been shortlisted for the Premier League’s Player of The Month award for September after his impressive performance for the Toffees.

The Nigeria international will vie for the award along with Bournemouth’s Philip Billing, Manchester City’s Kevin DeBruyne, Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Iwobi has been in superb form for the Toffees this season and provided the assist for Neal Maupay’s goal against West Ham United over the weekend to help them claim their first win of the season. Aside from the assist, Iwobi has arguably been one of Everton’s best players this season having played in midfield.

According to Everton, the nomination is well derived for the 27-year-old, “IWOBINHO… @alexiwobi has been nominated for September’s @premierleague Player of the Month award. Well deserved, Alex!”

Should Iwobi be named the Premier League Player of the Month, he’ll become only the fourth Nigerian to win the accolade after Austin Okocha, Osaze Odemwingie, Odion Ighalo and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Erling Haaland was the Player of the Month for August.
