Inter Lagos defender, Oluwafemi Ladeinde, says his dream is to play in the Nigeria Premier Football League with the newly formed Inter Lagos.
Established in 2023, Inter Lagos’ foray into the Nigerian football space is already yielding fruits as they may well join Sporting Lagos in the NPFL next season – all things being equal.
Currently second in Conference B of the NNL table on goal difference to top-placed Ikorodu City, Inter Lagos will be looking to firstly qualify for the NNL Super 8 where they’ll get the chance to qualify for the topflight league.
For Ladeinde, having been an avid follower of the league, especially former NPFL giant killers, MFM FC will be a dream come true.
“It’s been my dream (to play in the NPFL), the center-back told boldsportsng.com. “I grew up watching MFM FC at Agege when they were playing in the NPFL some years back, watching the likes of Chukwuka Onuwa, Stephen Odey, Sikiru Olatubosun, Atu Irumekhai and others.
“It was awesome watching them play and to play in the NPFL will be great for me.
As far as their hopes of making it to the NPFL go, the next hurdle for the Lagos-based side will be a mouth-watering clash away at southwestern neighbors Gateway United in Abeokuta and Ladeinde believes Inter Lagos has all it takes to qualify for the topflight.
“I strongly believe that it’s possible (to gain promotion to the NPFL). We are second are only separated by goal difference with Ikorodu FC. I believe that if we can keep up with our superb performance I’m sure we will gain promotion,” Ladehinde added.
