Odion Ighalo found the back of the net for Al Wehda, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory as Al Ittihad staged a comeback, clinching a 2-1 win despite Karim Benzema’s missed penalty.
The Nigerian striker put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute. However, hopes of an equalizer for the hosts were dashed when former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema faltered from the penalty spot just before halftime.
Abderazak Hamdallah emerged as the hero for Al Ittihad, netting twice to orchestrate a remarkable turnaround for the fifth-placed team. Hamdallah leveled the score in the 84th minute, and in stoppage time, Benzema provided the assist for Hamdallah’s decisive goal.

Despite being reduced to 10 men after Saad Al-Mousa’s red card in the 90th minute, Al Itihad displayed determination and resilience, securing all three points.
Al Wehda will be disappointed with their inability to hold on for a draw.
Ighalo’s goal takes his league tally to 10 in 19 games, with a total of 11 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.
