Vincent shines as Heat beat Knicks in Game 1

D’Tigers guard Gabe Vincent once again impressed as the Miami Heat claimed an away win in game 1 of their second round NBA playoffs game against the New York Knicks on Sunday at the Madison Square Garden with a 108-101 win.

Vincent, who has been the starting point guard for the Heats scored 20 points, five assists and two rebounds in 33 minutes on the court. He made five three points from 12 attempts – the most in the game while Jimmy Butler had a team-high 25 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Bam Adebayo contributed 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Veteran guard Kyle Lowry had 18 points, five rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes.

The 25-year-old had an 11 efficiency in the game, the most of any player on both teams. RJ Barret had a game high 26 points, nine rebounds and seven rebounds while guard Jalen Brunson scored 25 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Power forward Julius Randle was out of game one with injury.

Game 2 of the second round Eastern Conference playoffs comes up on Wednesday and the Heat will be hoping to take the game before heading home to Florida for game 3 and 4.

The Heat pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the playoffs so far after they sent first seed the Milwaukee Bucks packing winning 4-1. Vincent impressed in all of the games. Vincent was in the Heat team that lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020 NBA Finals.
