Frankfurt cool interest in Gift Orban

German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt is reportedly no longer interested in signing Gift Orban from AA Gent. The young Nigerian striker was previously linked with a move to the club, but their interest has cooled in recent days.

According to Sport Bild, the reduced interest in the Nigerian is not due to his performances, which have declined compared to last season. Instead, Frankfurt is concerned about the similarity between Orban and Omar Marmoush, a player they signed from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer.

The Egyptian has scored 10 goals while providing two assists in 19 appearances across all competitions while Orban has found the back of the net 11 times in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Marmoush has been a revelation for Frankfurt this season, and the club believes they do not need to sign another player in his position. This is a blow for Orban, who hoped to make a big move to Germany.

It is now unclear what the future holds for the 20-year-old. He could still remain at Gent, but there is also a possibility that he could move to another club in January.

Frankfurt’s decision to cool their interest in Orban is a sign of their growing confidence in their squad. They are currently in seventh place in the Bundesliga and looking to challenge for a place in the Champions League next season.
