Nigerian sprinters Favour Ofili and Rosemary Chukwuma will open their 2025 athletics season at the LSU Twilight Meet today.

According to the meet information, both athletes will feature in the women’s 60m Olympic Prelims at 2:10pm local time, which is 9:10pm Nigerian time.

The race is Chukwuma’s first as a professional after graduating from Texas Tech University last year and will also be Ofili’s first since the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The 22-year-old LSU graduate qualified for the final of the women’s 200m at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she finished sixth.

Controversy had trailed her participation at the Olympics after the Nigerian authorities failed to register her for the 100m which she qualified for and had shown interest to run.
