Nigeria striker Rafiu Durosinmi continued his impressive scoring run as Viktoria Plzen sealed a 2-0 victory over FK Nove Sady on Wednesday to book their place in the Czech Cup quarterfinals, Bold Sports reports.

The 22-year-old forward, who also found the net in the previous round against TJ Sokol Lanzhot, maintained his fine form by opening the scoring just 14 minutes after coming off the bench, with his well-taken goal giving Plzen the crucial lead in the round of 16 encounter.

Despite Nove Sady’s spirited resistance, Plzen pressed on and eventually doubled their advantage late in the game through another substitute Lukas Cerv, ensuring a comfortable passage to the next round.

However, there was a moment of concern for Plzen as Durosinmi was forced off six minutes after scoring due to a knock. He was replaced by youngster Daniel Suchy, with head coach Martin Hyský expressing cautious optimism afterward.

“He got a knock right at the start, I hope he’ll be fine,” Hyský told reporters after the match.

The win extends Viktoria Plzen’s unbeaten run to six games in all competitions, with four consecutive victories. For Durosinmi, the goal took his tally to two in the Czech Cup and 11 across all competitions, underlining his growing influence for the club this season.
