Former Super Falcons captain, Desire Oparanozie, helped Wuhan Jianghan University F.C to win their second consecutive Chinese Women Super League title on Friday despite their 1-0 loss to Jiangsu Suning at the Wutaishan Stadium.
On their way to retaining the title they won in 2020, Wuhan recorded 15 wins in 18 games and losing three games to finish with 45 points ahead of Jiangsu Suning who ended the season on 39 points after 12 wins, three draws and three losses.
Oparanozie scored twice in the campaign while teammate and Malawi International, Temwa Chawinga , was named the golden boot winner after scoring 10 goals in the season.
Reacting to winning the league with Wuhan, Oparanozie on Twitter wrote, “Behold your Chinese Women’s Super League Champion.”
