BENIN CITY – Delight FC emerged champions of the third edition of the Bright Osayi-Samuel U-13 Football Tournament after defeating Ine Stars 4-3 in a thrilling final at the Lucky Igbinedion Sports Complex, Etete-GRA, Benin City, on Sunday, Boldsports report.
The victory capped an impressive run for Delight FC in the eight-team competition, which was sponsored by Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel and his family and organised by the Edo State Football Association (Edo FA). The tournament continues to serve as an important platform for discovering and developing young football talent across Edo State.

The final produced seven first-half goals in an entertaining contest. Delight FC captain I. Osamuyi gave his side a dream start by scoring with the opening kick of the game before Paul U. doubled the lead. Ine Stars responded through Destiny Saturday, but Eronesile U. restored Delight’s two-goal advantage to make it 3-1.

Ine Stars refused to give up as Destiny Saturday scored his second goal before Edoja Divine headed home the equaliser to make it 3-3. However, Delight FC answered immediately, with captain Osamuyi scoring his second goal of the match just a minute later to restore his side’s lead at 4-3 before half-time. Despite dominating much of the second half, Ine Stars could not break through a disciplined Delight defence as the champions held on to secure the title.

Delight FC reached the final after defeating Assemblies of God Church FC 1-0 in the semi-finals, while Ine Stars booked their place by beating Bristol Kings 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Earlier on Sunday, Assemblies of God Church FC claimed third place with a 6-5 penalty shootout victory over Bristol Kings following a goalless draw.

The tournament featured eight youth teams and once again highlighted Bright Osayi-Samuel’s commitment to grassroots football development. The Super Eagles defender has continued to invest in young players by providing a competitive platform where they can showcase their abilities and gain valuable experience.
