AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is available for selection ahead of their Serie A clash with Udinese on Saturday, after an injury scare while on international duty with Nigeria.
Chukwueze returned to Milan early due to a physical issue, but club sources confirm he has fully recovered and will be in contention for the weekend’s game at San Siro.
The 25-year-old came in the 61st minute of action in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Libya at the Godswill Akpabip Stadium, Uyo last Friday but was no part of the delegation that travelled to Libya for the aborted game after he copped an injury, rather returning to Milan for further examination.
According to TuttoSport, the Nigerian is however fit for the Saturday game after returning to training.
“All available for Paulo Fonseca ahead of Saturday’s match at San Siro against Udinese. Loftus-Cheek trained with the group and has regained his fitness after some problems in recent weeks. Chukwueze is also fine, having returned early from Nigeria due to a physical problem that has however already resolved itself,” the Italian paper said.
Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who had been sidelined with fitness concerns in recent weeks, also rejoined full training and is set to feature.
However, Milan will be without Theo Hernandez, who is suspended following a red card in the previous match against Fiorentina. Long-term absentees Ismaël Bennacer, Marco Sportiello, and Alessandro Florenzi remain out as they continue their recovery from injuries.
