Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his impressive form on Wednesday night, netting a brace to inspire Galatasaray to a 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in their UEFA Champions League clash, Bold Sports reports.

The Nigerian striker, who had also scored the winning goal in Galatasaray’s win over Liverpool, wasted no time in making his mark against the Norwegian champions. He opened the scoring just three minutes into the encounter, finishing off a well-timed pass from Mario Lemina with a composed one-time strike.

Osimhen doubled his tally in the 33rd minute after pouncing on a blunder from Fredrik André Bjorkan. The left-back lost possession inside his box, allowing Osimhen to seize the opportunity, glide past the goalkeeper and slot home to make it 2-0.

After the break, Bodo/Glimt pushed forward in search of a way back into the game, but Galatasaray remained in control. The hosts could have extended their lead in the 55th minute when Osimhen unselfishly set up Yunus Akgün, who failed to convert before eventually teeing up Sane, whose effort was blocked.

Akgün made amends moments later, again thanks to Osimhen’s tenacity. The Nigerian striker pressed high to win the ball back, and although Akgün’s initial attempt was saved by goalkeeper Nikita Haikin, he reacted quickly to tuck in the rebound for Galatasaray’s third goal.

Bodo/Glimt pulled one back in the 81st minute through Andreas Helmersen, but it proved to be a mere consolation as the Turkish giants held on for a deserved victory.

The impressive victory takes Galatasaray’s points tally in the Champions League to six points from three matches, putting them in a strong position to qualify from the league phase, while Bodo/Glimt remain without a win after two draws and a loss.

With his brace, Osimhen has now scored three goals in the Champions League this season and five across all competitions for Galatasaray.
