Burna Boy will join Colombian pop icon Shakira on the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup titled “Dai Dai.”

It marks the second consecutive time that a Nigerian artiste has been featured in a World Cup song. In 2022, Davido was one of the stars on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)”.

Shakira announced that “Dai Dai” will be released on May 14 through posts shared on her official social media platforms alongside a teaser of the song.

In her post, Shakira wrote: “From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the @FIFAWorldCup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready! ⚽️🐺 @burnaboy.”

Shakira is no stranger to FIFA World Cup music projects. She delivered the globally acclaimed “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” alongside Freshlyground for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The song became one of the most successful tournament anthems in football history.

She also contributed to “La La La,” one of the tracks for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

For Burna Boy, this represents another landmark achievement in his growing relationship with global football entertainment. The Grammy-winning artiste previously became the first African performer to headline the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show in 2023.
