Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have reportedly made a move to sign Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman from Atalanta before the end of the transfer window, Bold Sports reports.

According to transfer expert David Ornstein, Bayern’s offer is structured as a loan deal that includes a substantial fee and an option to buy at a significant price.

Atalanta, meanwhile, have maintained a firm stance regarding Lookman’s future, making it clear that they have no intention of allowing the player to leave on a loan with an option to buy as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Bayern, Tottenham, and other interested Italian sides are all informed that only a permanent deal or a guaranteed obligation to buy will be considered.

Lookman is currently weighing his options and is eager to leave Atalanta amid Bayern’s strong interest. The Nigerian international has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but Spurs appear to have shifted focus after securing the signing of RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

Earlier in the summer, Lookman was on the verge of joining Inter Milan after agreeing personal terms with the club. However, Atalanta rejected Inter’s €40 million bid, leading the winger to submit a transfer request, delete Atalanta-related photos from his Instagram account, and skip training sessions in protest.

Despite Lookman’s actions, Atalanta have stood firm on their asking price, creating tensions between the player and the club’s management. The standoff has strained relations and left Lookman frustrated as he pushes for an exit.

Bayern are hoping to finalise the deal for Lookman after their proposed move for Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson fell through, with Chelsea unwilling to sanction a transfer. The Blues are dealing with a setback after new striker Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Despite recently signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool, Bayern remain determined to bolster their attacking options before the window closes as they aim to strengthen their squad for both Bundesliga and Champions League campaigns.
