Alex Iwobi sustained an injury and was unable to finish the game in Fulham’s goalless draw with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
Iwobi, who has recorded four goals and three assists this season, had started the Premier League clash, and was one of the visitor’s bright players, but his afternoon came to an early end.
The Super Eagles midfielder went down injured in the 42nd minute, holding his right hamstring. He was replaced shortly after with International teammate Samuel Chukwueze taking his place.
The derby failed to live up to expectation as Fulham and Brentford couldn’t be separated. The Cottagers dominated the first half of the encounter but were unable to record a shot on target.

The second half continued the same way, with a lack of injection of quality in the final third. Fulham coach Marco Silva introduced Joshua King and Raul Jimenez shortly after the hour mark, but that didn’t change the tempo of the game.
The Bees came close to breaking the deadlock in the dying minutes of the match, but they were denied by Bernd Leno. The goalkeeper made a world class save in stoppage time, preventing Dango Ouattara from finding the winner.
With neither side able to find a winning goal, the game finished goalless. The result means that Brentford remain seventh in the Premier League with 48 points while Fulham sit 12th with 45 points.
