Alex Iwobi scores first Premier League goal as Fulham edges Wolves 3-2

Alex Iwobi’s first Premier League goal of the season and stellar performance propelled Fulham to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, snapping their four-game winless streak.

Alex Iwobi opened the scoring for Fulham in the 7th minute with a well-taken flick while Brazilian Willian scored twice from the penalty spot to take the pressure off manager Marco Silva as they also move up to 14th on the league table.

The game was Iwobi’s 300th career game. He previously played for Arsenal and Everton before joining Fulham.

Wolves equalized twice in the game – Matheus Cunha in the 22nd minute and Hwang Hee-chan from the penalty spot in the 75th minute – however, it was not enough to hand Gary O’Neil’s men their second win in a row.

Iwobi could have made it a brace in the 68th minute but his effort on goal was smartly saved by Jose Sa. Another attempt in the 84th minute was also expertly handled by the Portuguese goalkeeper.

The Super Eagles midfielder was on for the entire duration of the game as well as his compatriot Calvin Bassey who also put in an impressive shift for the Cottagers in defence. Tosin Adarabioyo came on for Willian in the 90th minute.
