Alex Iwobi is back in contention for Fulham F.C. ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. after recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out for three matches.

‎Fulham manager Marco Silva confirmed the update during his pre-match press conference as the Cottagers prepare for a crucial end to the season. Fulham have lost their last two league matches and now face a difficult task in their push for European qualification.

‎Iwobi has remained one of Fulham’s most reliable players this season. The Super Eagles midfielder made 27 appearances before his injury setback and played a major role in Silva’s midfield system with his creativity and versatility.

‎Fulham collected only three points from their last three league games during his absence. His possible return now offers Silva more balance and attacking quality ahead of the clash at Molineux.

‎Silva expressed confidence in Iwobi’s recovery and highlighted the midfielder’s importance to the squad.

‎“Alex is back in contention for the game. Last week, he had some training sessions with us. This week, throughout the week, he’s been working with us. It’s been a good week for him.”

‎The Fulham boss also praised the Nigerian’s influence across several positions.

‎“He’s a big player for us, definitely. He’s a player who’s very versatile, who can play in many different positions. He’s also a player that can add extra quality in the decision making.

‎“In all aspects of the game he’s a key player for us and he’s shown it again this season. It’s a boost. Definitely, it’s a boost.”

‎Fulham head into the Wolves game hoping to end their recent slump and keep alive their slim hopes of qualifying for Europe. Silva’s men have beaten Wolves in their last two meetings and will look to complete another important result away from home.

‎Iwobi may not start immediately after his recovery, but his return could still provide a major lift for Fulham’s midfield options. The former Arsenal F.C. player will also hope to help Fulham secure a top-half finish before their final game of the season against Newcastle United F.C..
