Nigerian duo Chidera Ejuke and Akor Adams combined brilliantly to seal Sevilla’s emphatic 4-1 victory over defending champions Barcelona in their La Liga clash on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.
Both players started from the bench but made significant impacts after being introduced, with Ejuke assisting Adams for Sevilla’s fourth goal in stoppage time, a strike that capped off a memorable evening for Matias Almeyda’s side at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Sevilla began the encounter on the front foot, with former Barcelona forward Alexis Sánchez opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 13th minute. Isaac Romero doubled the lead in the 36th minute, putting the hosts in firm control before Marcus Rashford halved the deficit just before halftime to give Barcelona hope of a comeback.
The Catalans, however, failed to capitalise on their opportunities in the second half. Robert Lewandowski missed a golden chance to equalise from the penalty spot in the 76th minute, a moment that proved decisive. Sevilla punished that wastefulness late on when José Ángel Carmona struck in the 90th minute to make it 3-1.
Ejuke, who was introduced shortly after, wasted no time making his presence felt. The winger set up fellow Nigerian Akor Adams in the 96th minute, with the striker slotting home to seal an impressive 4-1 win.

The goal was Adams’ second this season after opening his account against Rayo Vallecano last week, while Ejuke’s assist marked his first goal contribution of the season after an injury-hit start to the campaign.
The victory, Sevilla’s fourth of the season, lifts them to fourth place on the La Liga table with 13 points from eight games. For Barcelona, the defeat which is their first of the season, leaves them two points behind leaders Real Madrid, who sit atop with 21 points.
