The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Issa Sy as the center referee for the highly anticipated AFCON 2025 quarter-final clash between Nigeria and Algeria.
Senegalese referee Issa Sy will take charge of the encounter, bringing significant experience to one of the tournament’s most pivotal fixtures.
He will be assisted by compatriots Dibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura, while Kenyan official Gilbert Kipkoech Cheruiyot has been named third assistant referee. Peter Waweru Kamaku will serve as the fourth official.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by Gabon’s Pierre Ghislain Atcho, assisted by Stephen Onyango Yiembe and Leticia Antonella Viana. Yahya Hadqa has been appointed referee assessor and will oversee the performance of the officiating crew.
The AFCON 2025 quarter-final showdown will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Stade de Marrakech.
