Nigerian winger Sani Suleman has completed a permanent transfer from German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.
Leipzig confirmed the move in a statement on their official social media platforms on Tuesday, bringing an end to the 20-year-old’s brief spell in Germany.
“Suleman #Sani joins Al-Qadsiah. The 20-year-old forward is leaving RB Leipzig to join the Saudi Arabian first-division club. Both clubs have agreed on a permanent transfer. Good luck to you, Suleman,” the club stated.
Suleman joined Leipzig in January 2026 on a long-term contract that was due to run until June 30, 2031. However, the Nigerian failed to make a competitive appearance for the Bundesliga outfit, with his only outing coming in a preseason fixture against Leeds United.

The winger had previously impressed in Slovakia with AS Trenčín, where he made 25 appearances across all competitions during his debut season, scoring twice and providing one assist.
He stepped up his performances during the first half of the 2025/26 campaign, registering three goals and two assists in 14 appearances. His impressive form caught the eye of several clubs, and Leipzig ultimately won the race for his signature despite significant competition.
Suleman’s rise began in Nigeria, where he started his career with Wikki Tourists before joining Akwa United midway through the 2023–24 season.
Despite being just 17 at the time, he made an immediate impact, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 15 league appearances. His contributions played a key role in helping Akwa United avoid relegation.
His impressive displays also earned him the Rookie of the Season award at the 2024 League Bloggers Awards. Across 19 appearances for the club, Suleman was named Man of the Match on seven occasions.
At international level, Suleman represented Nigeria’s Flying Eagles at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, featuring in all three of the team’s group-stage matches and providing one assist.
He was, however, suspended for Nigeria’s round-of-16 encounter against Argentina, where the Flying Eagles suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat and exited the tournament.
The move to Al Qadsiah now gives Suleman an opportunity to continue his development in Saudi Arabia and establish himself at another major club after a short-lived stint in Germany.
