Kingsley Ehizibue has completed his move to Genoa as a free agent. The defender left Udinese after the end of the 2025/26 Serie A season.
The 31-year-old right-back played 32 Serie A matches for Udinese last season. He made over 115 appearances and scored four goals during his four seasons with the club.
Ehizibue signed a multi-year contract with Genoa on September 3. He also completed his medical before finalising the transfer.
His Udinese contract expired in June. The club failed to reach a new agreement with the defender. The transfer brings Ehizibue back to a club that tried to sign him in 2019.
Genoa first pursued the defender in January that year. Ehizibue was playing for PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands.
The transfer came close to completion. However, a snowstorm delayed his journey to Genoa. The move eventually collapsed. Ehizibue joined FC Köln instead in 2019.
He returned to Italy three seasons later. Udinese signed him from Köln in 2022.
Ehizibue became a regular presence at Udinese. He spent four seasons with the club before leaving this summer.
His career also includes involvement with Nigeria. Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr invited him to the national team.
Now, Ehizibue has finally completed his long-awaited move to Genoa.
His arrival gives the Italian club an experienced right-back. It also marks a new chapter in his Serie A career after four seasons with Udinese.
The transfer closes a seven-year chapter that began with Genoa’s first attempt to sign him in 2019.
