Daniel Daga scored his first goal since returning to action as Molde recorded a hard-fought 4-2 victory over KFUM Oslo in their Norwegian Eliteserien clash at the KFUM Arena on Sunday.
The 19-year-old midfielder, making his first start since being unanimously acquitted in a sexual act without consent case that sidelined him for more than nine months, delivered an impressive performance by scoring Molde’s first goal of the afternoon.
KFUM had made a dream start, taking the lead within seconds through Rasmus Eggen Vinge to stun the visitors.
However, Daga restored parity in the 40th minute, reacting quickest after the KFUM goalkeeper parried a long-range effort before Eirik Hestad’s rebound struck the woodwork. The Nigerian midfielder calmly slotted home the loose ball to make it 1-1 and register his first goal since his return to action.

Molde thought they had completed the turnaround four minutes later when Jalal Abdullai found the net, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review, leaving the sides level at the break.
The visitors eventually went ahead in the 58th minute through captain Emil Breivik, only for Bilal Nije to respond two minutes later, making it 2-2.
Molde continued to press and thought they had a penalty in the 62nd minute, but the decision was not given in their favour as Oskar Spiten-Nysæter was instead booked for simulation.
The visitor’s persistence finally paid off in the closing stages as substitute Martin Linnes fired them back in front in the 87th minute before Samukelo Kabini sealed the victory with a stoppage-time goal.
The result lifts Molde to fifth in the Eliteserien standings with 23 points, while KFUM remain 13th on 12 points. Molde will host Sarpsborg in their next league match on Sunday, August 2, while KFUM Oslo will entertain Kristiansund on the same day.
