Team Nigeria are in Canada for the 2026 World Squash Junior Team Championships, which will take place from July 26 to 31 at the White Oaks Resort, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian contingent is made up of eight players (four boys and four girls), along with two officials.
The boys’ team comprises Nigeria’s number one, Yusuf Quadri, number two Shuaib Giwa as well as Benjamin Monday and Joshua Daniel. The girls’ squad features team captain Mosturah Durosinlorun, who is Nigeria’s number two, Khadija Abdulraheem (number three), Awawu Balogun (number four) and Delight Allison (number eight).
The delegation is led by Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF) President Sunday Wilson Egberipou, while the federation’s Technical Director, Jonah Attah, is the other official accompanying the team.

Nigeria’s preparations began with a training camp at Ikoyi Club 1938, where 17 junior players were invited following rigorous selection trials. The squad was later reduced to 12 before the final phase of camping was moved to Abuja, where the final eight players secured places on the team.
The championship begins on Sunday, with Nigeria’s girls opening their Group 1 campaign against hosts Canada, while the boys take on Pakistan in their opening Group 7 fixture.
On Monday, the girls will face Brazil as they continue their group campaign, while the boys will take on Switzerland later in the day. The girls will round off their Group 1 fixtures on Tuesday against 12-time champions Egypt.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, NSF President Sunday Wilson Egberipou expressed confidence in the team’s chances, describing the selected players as the country’s best junior squash talents.
NSF Executive Board member Yusuf Durosinlorun also backed the team to perform well, saying the players have been thoroughly prepared and understand the importance of the competition.
Nigeria will be aiming to make a strong start when the tournament gets underway on Sunday as both the boys’ and girls’ teams begin their quest for success in Canada.
