Technical Director of the Dynamic Athletics Meet, Lekan Soetan, says the 2026 edition of the competition will provide more opportunities for young athletes to compete and develop, Boldsports report.

‎The third edition of the meet will take place on Saturday, August 15, at the YABATECH Sports Complex in Yaba, Lagos.

‎Soetan, who is also the South-West representative on the board of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, believes providing competitive opportunities for young athletes is crucial to the long-term development of Nigerian athletics.

‎According to him, the meet is structured to accommodate emerging talents seeking national exposure as well as elite athletes aiming to improve their performances and achieve qualifying standards.

‎“Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. The Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026 exists to ensure more young people have the opportunity to compete, grow and dream,” Soetan said.

‎Since its inception, the competition has operated an open registration system, allowing upcoming and established athletes to participate.

‎Organisers hope the policy will continue to make the meet a platform for identifying and developing the next generation of Nigerian athletics stars.

‎Registration for the competition will close on July 30, after which no additional entries will be accepted.

‎The organisers said the deadline would allow sufficient time to verify entries, resolve registration errors, complete accreditation and conclude other technical preparations.

‎Athletes, coaches, clubs and state associations have been advised to register before the deadline.
