Gift Orban is closing in on a move to the Turkish Super Lig after newly promoted Amedspor reportedly reached an agreement with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for the Nigeria international’s loan signing ahead of the 2026/27 season, Boldsports report.

‎The proposed deal is expected to include an option to make the transfer permanent, while Amedspor will reportedly cover the striker’s full wages during the loan. Turkish transfer journalist/TV reporter Ertan Süzgün reported the breakthrough, with Orban expected to travel to Turkey to complete the remaining formalities.

‎The 23-year-old heads into the move after a productive campaign with Hellas Verona. Despite the Italian club’s relegation from Serie A, Orban impressed by scoring seven league goals and providing three assists in 28 appearances. His performances made him one of Verona’s standout attackers and attracted interest from several clubs during the summer window.

‎The move also continues the growing Nigerian presence in Turkish football. Earlier Today, Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho completed his switch to Bursaspor after leaving Celtic at the end of his contract, adding further attention to the league’s recruitment of Nigerian talent.

‎A successful spell at Amedspor could strengthen Orban’s push for a regular place in Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles squad. The former Gent and Lyon striker is still searching for an extended run with the national team, and consistent performances in the Turkish Super Lig would boost his chances ahead of upcoming international fixtures.

‎If the final paperwork proceeds as expected, Orban will arrive in Turkey on Saturday before completing his medical and officially becoming one of Amedspor’s key attacking additions for their first season back in the Turkish top flight.
