The match opened at a cautious tempo. Both sides struggled to create early momentum. However, Atletico Madrid sparked into life midway through the first half. A clever back-heel from Nahuel Molina released Rodrigo Mendoza, but a timely defensive block denied a clear scoring chance.
After the restart, the rhythm remained flat. Atletico again threatened around the hour mark. Belaid found space inside the box but failed to hit the target despite another precise delivery from Molina.
