Kelechi Iheanacho netted a brace to fire Celtic through to the final of the Scottish Cup, as they thrashed St. Mirren 6-2 in their semifinal clash on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker, who has now scored six goals this season, made an instant impact from the bench, helping Celtic reach the final of the competition for the fourth straight season.
Celtic had taken a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first half. Daizen Maeda scored seconds into the match, and Anthony Ralston found the net just before the break to extend their advantage.
However, St. Mirren got back to level terms in the second half. Mikaël Mandron scored in the 53rd minute, before finding the net again in stoppage time to send the game to extra time.

Celtic then ran riot in the first half of extra time to totally take the game away from their opponents. Iheanacho, who came on in the 83rd minute, scored in the 96th minute to give his side the lead.
The 42-time Scottish Cup champions then scored three more goals in the space of five minutes, making the scoreline 6-2. Iheanacho netted his brace in the 101st minute, playing a key role in the victory.
No more goals were added in the second half of extra time as Celtic comfortably secured the win. They will now face Dunfermline Athletic in the final of the competition on May 23.
Speaking after the match, Iheanacho thanked the fans for their support, while urging them to continue supporting the team as they go for the trophy.
“We’re happy to go through to the final. We’re looking forward to the final. Thank you for your support today. Come out in the final to support us again,” the striker said.
