The Nigeria Premier Football League has officially moved the Matchday 34 clash between El-kanemi Warriors and Nasarawa United to a new date due to flight schedule complications, Boldsports report.
The fixture, initially billed for Sunday, April 12, 2026, will now take place on Tuesday, April 14, with the venue unchanged at the El-Kanemi Sports Centre in Maiduguri.
El-Kanemi Warriors approach this fixture under serious pressure. The Maiduguri-based side has failed to win any of their last six matches, a run that has left them hovering just three points above the relegation zone. In their most recent outing, they were unable to secure victory, further deepening concerns about their defensive stability and overall form. This upcoming tie now carries significant weight as they attempt to halt their slide and regain momentum in the closing stages of the season.
The league body confirmed that the change was due to “flight complications,” highlighting ongoing travel difficulties that continue to disrupt team logistics across the country. Despite the alteration, preparations remain focused, with both teams now adjusting their schedules ahead of the midweek showdown.
For Nasarawa United, the rescheduled match presents an immediate opportunity to respond after a setback in their last game. The Solid Miners suffered a home defeat to Kun Khalifat FC, a result that stalled their push up the league standings. That loss exposed vulnerabilities they will be eager to correct against a struggling opponent.
With ambitions of finishing higher on the table, Nasarawa United will look to exploit El-Kanemi’s poor run. At the same time, the hosts know that anything less than a strong performance could further drag them into relegation trouble.
