Galatasaray have confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has resumed first-team training after spending three weeks out with injury, Boldsports report. ‎

The update comes as the club push toward the final stretch of the Turkish Super Lig season, with Osimhen edging closer to a competitive return following surgery on a fractured forearm sustained in a UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.‎‎

Before his injury setback, Osimhen remained a key figure in Galatasaray’s attacking line, featuring prominently in high-stakes fixtures including the Champions League Round of 16 tie. His presence has been crucial throughout the campaign, as the club continues its title charge and relies heavily on his physicality and goal threat in decisive moments.

‎‎Club Confirms Controlled Return‎‎

Galatasaray released a detailed statement outlining his gradual reintegration into full training:‎‎

“Victor Osimhen trained with the team during the first part of the session and continued his work according to a specialized program prepared for him, accompanied by physiotherapists on the field and in the gym,” the club stated.‎‎

The forward had initially been restricted to gym sessions and individual drills but has now taken a significant step forward by rejoining his teammates on the pitch.

‎‎Protective Measures Ahead of Comeback‎‎

Despite his return, Osimhen is not yet fully match-ready. The club has implemented a controlled recovery plan, ensuring he builds fitness without risking further injury. Training images show him wearing a protective cast on his arm, with reports indicating he will play using a specially designed brace.‎‎

The brace, reportedly constructed from a highly durable yet lightweight material, is intended to safeguard his arm during matches. This approach mirrors the protective mask Osimhen has worn in recent years following a previous facial injury.‎‎

Title Race and Derby Focus‎‎

Galatasaray are targeting Osimhen’s full return ahead of their crucial Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26. The fixture could prove decisive in the title race, making his availability a major boost for the team.‎‎

With the stakes rising, the club continues to balance urgency with caution, ensuring their star striker returns at full strength rather than risking a premature comeback.‎
